This is pretty unlike me, I’m not very fashion savvy and finding an article of clothing that I absolutely love and will use all the time is sort of impossible. But recently I’ve been drooling over some of these super cute, super out of my comfort zone pieces. Yes, I love them and yes I’d love to have them…But I would never wear them. Go Figure!
Here are my SIX must haves for this Summer (although it’s almost over). Pssst, if you’re brave, you can wear them anytime.
1. Sheer Maxi Dress:
Why do I love these? Well for starters, they are perfect to take anywhere. Wear them with sandals and go to the beach, wear them with heels and go to a nice dinner. Voila!
Why would I wear them? I’m short (5’3” short) so long dresses make me look like a midget. I’ve been tempted to these since the sheet bottom show off your legs so maybe I’ll take the leap one day.
2. Bandeau Tops
I’m not sure if I’m for or against the bandeau tops. I like them in photos but I can’t imagine walking out of my house in a teeny, tiny bra…and a high waisted skirt. I mean, it just feels like something I would wear to the beach, not to the mall. But fashion is so…unique now a days?
3. Backless Dresses
There is a secret why I never wear backless dresses… I have a back tattoo. Yeah, that’s right, a tattoo on my back but that’s not the bad part, I mean, tattoos aren’t bad at all. The reason I don’t wear ANYTHING backless is because my mother does not know of it. And so, I am bound to full back dresses and jackets.
4. Blazers
Let me start off with saying that Miami is NOT a place to wear blazers―unless you’re inside a refrigerator. That being said, I absolutely love blazers. They make any outfit look so put together and sleek. I only own one (because I live in Miami and walk everywhere) but they are absolutely great. I’d recommend everyone to go buy one!
5. Booties (the ones you put on your feet)
Wear them with a pair of shorts, a pair of jeans, or even a bikini bottom. I don’t know, whatever your style, whatever your budget, booties are a great closed-shoe option. Wear them with heels, without heels, the ones made of rubber, the ones made of snake skin. Whatever! They are great, they are comfortable, they are a classic.
6. Colorful Shorts/Studded Shorts
They are just so cute…and so short, which is mainly the reason why I wouldn’t wear them. But they catch anyone’s attention, the bright colors, the bedazzled back pockets. Simply the cutest summer accessory.
